On Thursday, November 21st, 2024, the Alliance Française Port Harcourt proudly celebrated the International Day of French Teachers with a joyful and inspiring afternoon event held at its premises.
Supported by the Embassy of France in Nigeria and the Institut Français du Nigeria, this celebration was part of the national network’s initiative to honor French teachers across the country and recognize their dedication to promoting the French language and culture.
The 2024 edition, organized under the theme “À vos marques, prêts, enseignez!” (“On your marks, get set, teach!”), echoed the global motto “Toute championne, tous champions: porteurs de la flamme francophone” (“Every champion, bearer of the Francophone flame”).
Teachers from various schools and institutions gathered to share experiences, showcase their creativity, and celebrate their passion for teaching French.
The afternoon featured presentations, performances, and friendly exchanges among teachers, highlighting their talent and enthusiasm. A competition organized for the occasion rewarded the three best contributions, while the five most remarkable presentations were showcased during the event.
The celebration offered a unique opportunity to build community spirit, exchange teaching practices, and celebrate excellence in French language education in Port Harcourt.
