Every year during the summer break, Alliance Française Port Harcourt runs a training session for French teachers, open to everyone, whether from our own centre or partner schools. This year was no exception!
This year’s training focused on Artificial Intelligence as a tool for the French-as-a-Foreign-Language teacher. It held on 6 & 7 August 2026, totalling 14 hours of training over the two days, at Alliance Française Port Harcourt.
The training brought together 14 participants from Alliance Française Port Harcourt and schools such as Bereton Montessori, Charles Dale Memorial, Vine School, Bloombreed, Teko School and Surebloom School, all eager to explore how AI can enhance French language teaching. The session was led by our Director of Studies, Madame Pauline Yamb, whose expertise guided teachers through practical, hands-on ways to bring AI into the classroom.
Over the two days, participants dove into how AI tools can support lesson planning, create engaging classroom activities, and offer new ways to give students personalized practice, all while keeping the focus on sound pedagogy.
