GAME OVER – Gender-Based Violence Digital Game Competition 2025

The Alliance Française Port Harcourt, in collaboration with the Females in Gaming Network (FIGN) and in partnership with Nexal Gaming Company, is proud to launch the “GAME OVER – Gender-Based Violence Digital Game Competition 2025”, an initiative supported by the Embassy of France in Nigeria.

Organized as part of the global “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence” campaign, this programme addresses a growing concern in our digital era: the alarming rise of online violence targeting women and girls. Through this event, we aim to shed light on the issue while empowering young learners to build safer digital communities.

Taking place on Friday, 5 December 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the competition will offer students a unique opportunity to engage with selected digital games designed to encourage the positive participation of girls and young women. The goal is to promote a digital culture that is safe, respectful, inclusive and enjoyable for all.

In addition to the gaming sessions, participants will attend a presentation and a roundtable discussion led by industry professionals, focusing on online safety, digital responsibility, and how girls can thrive confidently in virtual environments.

We are inviting schools to register their students as early as possible.
👥 Each school may enter exactly 12 students.
Registration deadline: Monday, 1 December.
⚡ Participation will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis.

Join us in using gaming as a tool for awareness, empowerment and positive change. Together, we can help make digital spaces safer for every girl and young woman.
