What is the difference between a photographer and a photojournalist? Why is a photojournalist’s job important? What are the ethics of this job? How to apprehend the safety of this profession? How to edit pictures? What are the requirement to work with international editors? Why is Port Harcourt such an exciting place for a journalist? What are some of the biggest issues we face here?
These are some questions that Victoria Uwemedimo will try to answer during her conference and the interactive session.

VICTORIA UWEMEDIMO
VICTORIA UWEMEDIMO is a British-Nigerian-Trinidadian creative storyteller, currently based in Lagos, Nigeria. She have several years’ experience working in various parts of Northern & Sub-Saharan Africa, and Central America, as a text, video and photo journalist, editor and media trainer.
She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in French & Spanish at University College London (UCL) before moving to New York City to complete her Master’s in Journalism at Columbia University.
After graduating, she worked in entertainment and fashion journalism, before moving to Nigeria, where she focus on human-interest stories, exploring issues such as urban poverty, gender inequity and the climate crisis.
Her work has been published by various international media outlets, including The Guardian, Agence France-Presse, Yahoo! News, TV5Monde, Atlas Obscura, Barron’s and Africa News.
